Chinook retention to re-open Oct. 20 on Columbia River
from Buoy 10 upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge.

Action: Retention of Chinook will be allowed on the mainstem Columbia River from Buoy 10 upstream to the Hwy 395 Bridge, as permitted under permanent regulations.

Effective date: 12:01 a.m. Oct. 20, 2005

Species affected: Chinook salmon

Location: Mainstem Columbia River from Buoy 10 upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge, near Pasco Washington.

Reason for action: Opportunity for additional Chinook harvest is available. Allowable impacts to the ESA listed Snake River wild fall Chinook remain on the non-Indian guideline.
