Chinook retention to reopen Saturday, September 30 on Columbia River from Bonneville Dam upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge in Pasco

Action: Retention of Chinook salmon will reopen on the mainstem Columbia River from Bonneville Dam upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge in Pasco

Effective date: September 30 through December 31, 2006.

Species affected: Chinook salmon

Location: Mainstem Columbia River from Bonneville Dam upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge in Pasco, Washington

Reason for action: The impacts to the ESA-listed Snake River wild fall Chinook allowed for this fishery are expected to be minor and within the total allowable impacts for non-Indian fisheries.

Other Information: The Columbia River downstream of Bonneville Dam to Rocky Point/Tongue Point will remain closed for Chinook retention but is open for hatchery steelhead and hatchery coho retention.
