Chinook salmon daily limit change in Marine Area 4

Action: Anglers can only keep 1 chinook as part of their 2 salmon daily limit in Marine Area 4, release wild coho.

Effective Dates: July 16, 2012 until further notice.

Species affected: Salmon

Location: Marine Area 4

Reason for Action: Chinook catch rates have been higher than expected. Reduction in the chinook daily limit is needed to ensure the coastal salmon fishery in Area 4 meets the season objectives.

Other information: Marine Areas 1, 3, and 4 are open to fishing 7 days per week. Area 2 is open Sunday through Thursday.
