Coastal chinook salmon limits modified

Action: Reduces minimum size limit for chinook to 24 inches in Area 1 (Ilwaco),
Area 2 (Westport) and Area 3 (LaPush). Allows anglers to retain two chinook in meeting their two-salmon daily bag limit in Area 3 (LaPush).

Effective dates: 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 13

Species affected: Chinook

Location: Marine Areas 1, 2 and 3

Reason for action: Allows more recreational opportunity to keep chinook while staying within the chinook quota.

Other information: Ocean recreational fisheries are not projected to come close to the overall chinook quota before the September 19 closing date.
