Columbia Park Pond temporarily closed to fishing
for Fishing Kids youth fishing clinic
Action: Columbia Park Pond will be closed to fishing for one day to protect catchable trout stocked specifically for the "Fishing Kids" fishing clinic, which begins at 9 a.m., Saturday May 3.
Effective date: 8 a.m. Friday, May 2, until 9 a.m., Saturday May 3, 2003
Species affected: All species
Location: Columbia Park Pond located in Columbia Park near the Kennewick end of the Highway 395 Bridge.
Reason for action: Eliminate premature harvest of catchable trout dedicated to the "Fishing Kids" event.
Other information: Columbia Park Pond is open to fishing only to juvenile and disabled anglers. Juveniles must be 14 years of age or younger. All disabled
anglers must possess a WDFWdisability fishing license (see page 10 in the 2002-03 sport fishing rules pamphlet). For information about the "Fishing Kids" youth fishing clinic, contact Benton County 4H at (509) 545-3511.
