Columbia River salmon and steelhead angling closed from Buoy 10 to HWY. 395 Bridge at Pasco

September 11, 2018

Action: Closes salmon and steelhead angling

Effective date: September 13, 2018 until further notice

Species affected: Salmon and steelhead

Location: Columbia River from Buoy 10 upstream to Hwy. 395 at Pasco

Reason for action: Counts of fall chinook at Bonneville Dam are 31 percent below preseason forecasts and on-going fisheries are approaching the allowable catch limits under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). This action is being taken to reduce chinook impacts due to the reduced run-size projection.

Additional information: The salmon and steelhead run will continue to be monitored as the season progresses.
