Daily limit for hatchery steelhead will
increase on the Cowlitz River


Action: Increase bag limit to six hatchery steelhead on the Cowlitz River.

Effective dates: June 9 through Oct. 31, 2007

Species affected: Hatchery summer steelhead

Location: Cowlitz River from the Hwy 4 Bridge at Kelso upstream to 100 feet or posted markers below the Barrier Dam.


Reasons for action: The summer steelhead run on the Cowlitz River is strong and the hatchery escapement goal will be met.


Other information: Steelhead are no longer being recycled downstream on the Cowlitz River.
