Deep River spring Chinook season updated

Action: Extends spring Chinook season.

Species affected: Spring Chinook and hatchery steelhead.

Effective dates: June 1 through June 15, 2024.

Location: Deep River (Wahkiakum County).

Rules: Salmon and steelhead, daily limit is six (6), up to two (2) adults may be retained of which no more than one (1) may be an adult Chinook. Release all salmon other than hatchery Chinook. Release wild steelhead. Salmon minimum size is 12 inches.

Reason for action: Aligns the 2024 spring Chinook and steelhead daily limits in Deep River with the Columbia River consistent with the Compact/Joint State Action of Feb 21, April 4, April 9, May 15, May 23, and May 29, 2024. 

Additional information: All other permanent regulations apply. WDFW staff will monitor the fishery in-season and determine if additional fishing opportunity is warranted.
