Deep River spring chinook sport fishery closed

Action: Deep River (Wahkiakum County) will close to spring chinook, steelhead and shad angling.

Effective date: 12:01 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004 until further notice.

Species affected: Chinook salmon, steelhead, and shad.

Location: Deep River (Wahkiakum County).

Reason for action: Impact limits on ESA-listed upriver spring chinook have been achieved in non-Indian fisheries based on the current run size of 200,000. Upriver chinook passage at Bonneville Dam has not met pre-season management expectations.
