Elliott Bay sport shrimp season extended

Action: Sufficient quota remains in the Elliott Bay portion of Marine Area 10 to extend the shrimp season by one day, on Saturday, June 4, 2005.

Effective dates: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2005.

Species affected: All shrimp.

Location: All waters of Elliott Bay, which is the portion of Marine Area 10 east of a line from West Point to Alki Point.

Reason for action: Sufficient quota remains in Elliott Bay to warrant extending the spot shrimp season for one day.

Other information: This is a reminder that beginning on June 1 through October 15, any areas of Puget Sound that remain open for shrimp are subject to the following rules:
-The minimum mesh size for shrimp pots is ½ inch.
-There is a daily limit of 10 pounds, heads and tails, of all shrimp species combined (maximum of 80 spot shrimp if open for spot shrimp).
-The minimum carapace size for spot shrimp is 1 3/16 (See Fishing in Washington sport fishing pamphlet for a diagram).
-Shrimp heads may be removed, but must be retained while in the field.
