Fishing for adult Chinook opens
on a section of the Klickitat River.
Action: Beginning Saturday June 4, adult Chinook may be retained on the Klickitat River.
Effective dates: June 4 through July 31, 2005.
Species affected: Chinook
Location: The Klickitat River, from 400 feet above the #5 fishway, upstream to the boundary markers just below the Klickitat Salmon Hatchery. The #5 fishway is located about one-half mile upstream from Fisher Hill Bridge, and the bridge is about two miles upstream from the river mouth.
Reasons for action:. The Klickitat Hatchery is expected to reach it?s escapement goal for spring Chinook, making additional adult Chinook available for harvest. (The area is currently open for jack salmon only).
Other information: Special daily limit of six salmon, no more than two may be adults. Minimum size is 12 inches in length.
