Fishing opportunities for Chinook salmon
expanded on the lower Columbia River
Action #1a: Allows retention of 2 hatchery adult chinook from Buoy 10 upstream to the Warrior Rock boundary (near the Lewis River).
Effective date: Sept. 13 through Sept. 30, 2013
Species affected: Fall chinook
Area: The mainstem Columbia River from Buoy 10 upstream to the Warrior Rock line (a line from the Warrior Rock Lighthouse on the Oregon shore through red buoy #4 to the orange marker atop the dolphin on the Washington shore.
Daily limit: Two adult hatchery (adipose fin-clipped) salmon or steelhead.
All other permanent rules apply, including no retention of chinook jacks (less than 24 inches) downstream of the Tongue Point-Rocky Point line until Oct. 1.
Action #1b: Allows retention of 2 adult chinook as part of the daily limit.

Action #3: Effective Sept. 13 through Dec. 31: Each (legal) angler aboard a vessel may continue to deploy angling gear until the daily limit of salmon/steelhead for all licensed and juvenile anglers aboard has been achieved.
Reason for action: Harvestable numbers of chinook remain available based on current forecasts, associated management agreements, and harvest estimates to date.
