Game fish seasons open on Tokul Creek

June 2, 2025

Action: Opens game fish seasons.

Effective dates: Immediately through July 13, 2025.

Species affected: All game fish.

Location: Tokul Creek (King County) from the mouth to the posted boundary marker downstream of the diversion dam.

Game fish rules:

  • Open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Closed 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
  • Trout; statewide minimum size/daily limit, except cutthroat and wild rainbow trout minimum size is 14 inches.
  • Other game fish; statewide minimum size/daily limit.
  • Anti-snagging rules.

Reason for action: These game fish seasons were initially closed in 2022 to protect summer Chinook, which had extremely low returns that year. Expected 2025 returns are sufficient to allow this limited game fish opportunity. Summer Chinook presence in the area is low during this time period and the fishery is expected to have very limited to no impact on returning summer Chinook.

Additional information: Fishery managers encourage anglers to sign up for Fishing Rule Change email notifications and to check for emergency rules on the WDFW website prior to fishing. Refer to the 2024-25 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for additional fishing rules.

Information contact: Fish Program, 360-902-2700.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations.
