Gilchrist Pond (Whitman County) temporarily closed
to fishing for Fishing Kids youth fishing clinic

Action: Gilchrist Pond will be closed to fishing for four days to protect catchable trout stocked specifically for the "Fishing Kids" fishing clinic, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 14.

Effective date: 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, until 9 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2003

Species affected: All species.

Location: Gilchrist Pond, in Whitman County, approximately six miles southwest of Colfax, off Union Flat Road.

Reason for action: Eliminate premature harvest of catch-able trout dedicated to the "Fishing Kids" event.
