Halibut fishing in Marine Area 1
will close after Saturday, June 4

Action: Close the recreational halibut fishery in Marine Area 1 (Ilwaco/Chinook) to recreational halibut fishing after Saturday, June 4, 2011.

Effective date: 12:01 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2011

Species affected: Pacific halibut

Location: Marine Area 1 (Ilwaco/Chinook)

Reason for action: There is sufficient halibut quota remaining in Marine Area 1 to allow the fishery to remain open through June 4, 2011. This rule conforms to federal action taken by the Pacific Fisheries Management Council. Anglers are encouraged to check the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website or hotline for information regarding re-openings.
