Halibut fishing in Marine Areas 3 and 4 will re-open
for two more days of halibut fishing

Action: Open the recreational halibut fishery in Marine Areas 3 and 4 (Neah Bay and La Push) to recreational halibut fishing. There is sufficient quota to open the fishery for two more days.

Effective date: Thursday May 31, 2012 and Saturday June 2, 2012.

Species affected: Pacific halibut

Location: Marine Areas 3 and 4, all areas.

Reason for action: There is sufficient halibut quota remaining in Marine Areas 3 and 4 to re-open the recreational halibut fishery for two more days. This rule conforms to federal action taken by the National Marine Fisheries Service and the International Pacific Halibut Commission. Anglers are encouraged to check the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website or hotline for information regarding re-openings.
