Hatchery adult coho daily limit to be reduced on
lower Columbia tributaries

Action: The hatchery adult coho daily limit will be reduced to 1 fish.

Species affected: Adult coho

Effective date: Nov. 1, 2015 until further notice.

Locations:

Deep River

Grays River including West Fork

Elochoman River

Cowlitz River

Toutle River including North Fork

Green River (Cowlitz County)

Tilton River

Mayfield Lake (Reservoir)

Cispus River

Lake Scanewa (Cowlitz Falls Reservoir)

Kalama River

Lewis River including North Fork

Washougal River

Other information: The salmon daily limit will be 6 fish of which no more than 2 may be adults of which no more than 1 may be a hatchery adult coho. Release all salmon other than hatchery chinook and hatchery coho. Wild chinook may be retained in Deep River and the Lewis River (including North Fork). All other permanent rules remain in effect.

Reason for action: Lower Columbia adult coho hatchery returns are behind schedule and brood stock and re-introduction goals may not be met. A conservative daily limit of one hatchery adult has been implemented in an effort to help achieve those goals.
