Hatchery adult coho daily limit to be reduced on
lower Columbia tributaries
Action: The hatchery adult coho daily limit will be reduced to 1 fish.
Species affected: Adult coho
Effective date: Nov. 1, 2015 until further notice.
Locations:
Deep River
Grays River including West Fork
Elochoman River
Cowlitz River
Toutle River including North Fork
Green River (Cowlitz County)
Tilton River
Mayfield Lake (Reservoir)
Cispus River
Lake Scanewa (Cowlitz Falls Reservoir)
Kalama River
Lewis River including North Fork
Washougal River
Other information: The salmon daily limit will be 6 fish of which no more than 2 may be adults of which no more than 1 may be a hatchery adult coho. Release all salmon other than hatchery chinook and hatchery coho. Wild chinook may be retained in Deep River and the Lewis River (including North Fork). All other permanent rules remain in effect.
Reason for action: Lower Columbia adult coho hatchery returns are behind schedule and brood stock and re-introduction goals may not be met. A conservative daily limit of one hatchery adult has been implemented in an effort to help achieve those goals.
Information contact: (360) 696-6211. For latest information press *1010.
