Increase daily limit of hatchery adult
coho on the Washougal River


Action: Increase the daily limit of adult hatchery coho from 2 to 4 fish.

Species affected: Hatchery coho

Effective date: Nov. 22 through Dec. 31, 2008

Location: Mainstem Washougal from mouth to bridge at Salmon Falls.

Reason for action: Hatchery escapement needs for broodstock have been met. Significant numbers of surplus hatchery coho are available for harvest in the river.

Other information: Salmon daily limit 6 fish. Up to 4 may be adults of which no more than 2 may be adult chinook. Minimum size 12 inches. Release wild coho and chum. Through November 30, release chinook upstream of the Little Washougal River. Closed waters from bridge at Salmon Falls upstream including all tributaries.
