Kennedy Creek mouth opens for chum

Action: Opens salmon retention.

Effective date: Nov. 6 through Nov. 30, 2021

Species affected: Salmon.

Location: Kennedy Creek (Mason Co.); from the mouth (500 yards east of the northbound Hwy. 101 Bridge) to northbound 101 Bridge. CRC (754)

Rule:Salmon; min size 12". Daily limit 2. Release wild Chinook and wild Coho.

Reason for action: Chum returns have exceeded preseason projections and are large enough to allow recreational chum retention while still meeting escapement goals.

Additional information: Marine Area 13 is also allowing chum retention beginning Nov. 6. Please see the Fishing Rule Change posted at https://fortress.wa.gov/dfw/erules/efishrules/ for additional information regarding Marine Area 13.
