Klickitat River fisheries return to permanent rules

June 30, 2022

Action: Restores the adult salmon daily limits described in the 2022-2023 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet; all other permanent rules remain in effect.

Effective date: July 1, 2022.

Species affected: Salmon.

Location: From 400 feet upstream from #5 fishway to boundary markers below Klickitat Salmon Hatchery.

Permanent Rule (through July 31, 2022): The salmon daily limit is 6, up to 2 adults may be retained. Min. size 12". Release wild Chinook.

Reason for action: The adult salmon daily limit on the Klickitat River was reduced earlier in the year to help ensure the spring Chinook broodstock collection goal was achieved. Adult Chinook collection at Klickitat Salmon Hatchery is currently at 95% of the broodstock goal and is likely to be met soon, therefore a reduced daily limit for adult Chinook is no longer needed.

Additional information: Anglers are reminded to check the Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for additional information.
