Lakes Washington, Sammamish to close for salmon fishing

Action: Closes Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish for salmon fishing.

Effective dates and location:

Lake Washington -- Oct. 2 through Oct. 31, 2010.

Lake Sammamish - Oct. 2 through Nov. 30, 2010.

Species affected: Salmon

Location: Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish.

Reason for action: The coho run is low and the hatchery may not collect enough fish to meet egg-take goals.

Other Information: The lakes will re-open if the run increases in coming weeks.
