Lower Columbia River reopens for adult chinook

Action: Reopens adult chinook retention in the lower Columbia River.

Effective dates: July 7 through July 31, 2017.

Species affected: Adult chinook

Location: Astoria-Megler Bridge upstream to the Bonneville Dam.

Reason for action: Upgraded run size has increased the allocation for the lower Columbia River.

Other information: The lower Columbia River remains open for hatchery chinook jacks, sockeye, and hatchery steelhead.
