Lower Columbia River summer chinook and sockeye sport fishing to close

Action: Closes mainstem Columbia River downstream of Bonneville Dam to retention of adult summer chinook and sockeye.

Species affected: Adult summer chinook and sockeye.

Location: The mainstem Columbia River from the Megler-Astoria Bridge upstream to Bonneville Dam.

Effective date: July 18 through July 31, 2011.

Daily bag limit: Daily salmonid limit is 6 fish (hatchery chinook jacks or hatchery steelhead), of which no more than two may be steelhead.

Reason for action: The adult summer chinook and sockeye allocations have been achieved.
