Marine Area 10 salmon season opens four days per week beginning March 1

Action:  Opens salmon fishing Wednesdays through Saturdays.

Effective date:  March 1 through April 15, 2024

Species affected:  Salmon

Location:  Marine Area 10, except year-round piers (Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee State Park Pier, Seacrest Pier, and Waterman Pier), and Agate Pass Area.

Salmon rules:  Open Wednesday through Saturday only, each week. Daily limit 2 including no more than 1 hatchery Chinook. Chinook min. size 22”. All other salmon species, no min. size. Release chum and wild Chinook.

Reason for action:   WDFW fishery managers in consultation with Puget Sound recreational anglers will open the winter Chinook season for 4 days per week to help extend the available quota late into winter season. 

Additional information:  As listed in the 2023/24 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet; year-round piers listed above remain open 7 days/week and the Agate Pass Area remains open 7 days/week to catch and release, fly fishing only through March 31.
