Marine Area 11 salmon to remain closed through June

May 30, 2019

Action: Closed to salmon fishing.

Effective date: Immediately through June 30, 2019.

Species affected: Salmon.

Location: Marine Area 11, except year-round piers as listed in 2018/2019 rules pamphlet.

Reason for action: The reason for this emergency rule is to meet conservation objectives and because the current 2018 sport fishing pamphlet and permanent rule is inconsistent with the agreed 2019 North of Falcon fishery sharing package.

Additional information: Year-round piers remain open as described in the the 2018/2019 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet. Marine Area 11 is scheduled to open to salmon fishing July 1, 2019. In order to maximize opportunity for chinook when this area opens, fishing for salmon from a vessel will be open five days per week (Saturday through Wednesday) while fishing from shore will be open daily.
