Action: Opens coastal salmon fisheries
Effective date: June 21-Sept. 15, 2025
Species affected: Salmon
Location: Marine Area 2 (Westport – Ocean Shores)
Rules:
- June 21-June 28: Daily limit one. Chinook minimum size 22 inches. Other salmon species no minimum size. Release coho.
- June 29-Sept. 15: Open daily. Daily limit two including no more than one Chinook. Chinook minimum size 22 inches. Coho min. size 16 inches. Other salmon species no minimum size. Release wild coho.
Additional information: Willapa Bay (Area 2-1) is open under the same rules as Area 2 from June 21-July 31. Rules for Area 2-1 change in August, and details will be listed in the Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
Grays Harbor Control Zone and that portion of Grays Harbor (Area 2-2) west of the Buoy 13 line is open June 21- Sept. 15 under the same rules as Area 2.
The catch quotas for recreational fisheries North of Cape Falcon in 2025 are 53,750 Chinook and 99,720 hatchery coho, with an Area 2 Chinook guideline of 22,270 and hatchery coho quota of 36,900.
Marine Area 1 is scheduled to close Sept. 30, Marine Areas 2 through 4 are scheduled to close Sept. 15, areas may close earlier if quotas are met.
