Action: Opens coastal salmon fisheries
Effective date: June 20 through September 30
Species affected: Salmon
Location: Marine Area 4
Rules:
June 20 through 28: Daily limit 1. Chinook - min. size 24". Other salmon species - no min. size. Release all coho.
June 29 through Sept. 30: Daily limit 2. Chinook - min. size 24". Coho - min. size 16". Release wild coho.
Additional information: The recreational catch quotas for 2020 are 26,360 Chinook and 26,500 marked coho. The Chinook quota is up slightly from 2019, but the coho quota is substantially lower than 2019.
Marine Areas 1 through 4 are scheduled to close Sept. 30, but areas could close earlier if the quota is met.
