Action: Marine Area 7 west, currently open Thursday through Saturday each week, will be open daily for spot shrimp.
Effective date: Sunday, Aug.11, 2013.
Species affected: Spot shrimp.
Location: All waters of Marine Area 7 west, which is located in the western San Juan Islands.
Reason for action: Sufficient recreational spot shrimp quota remains in Marine Area 7 west to allow a seven day per week fishery for the remainder of the season.
Other information: Marine Area 7 West will remain open daily for spot shrimp until Sept.15. Please see pages 134-136 of the 2013/2014 "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on pot mesh size rules, and descriptions of the shrimp species.
