Most areas of Puget Sound reopen Oct. 1
for late-season crab fishing

Action: Opens winter recreational crab fishing.

Effective Dates: 8:00 a.m. Oct. 1 through 5:00 p.m. Dec. 31, 2013.

Species affected: Dungeness and red rock crab.

Location: Marine Areas 4 east of the Bonilla Tatoosh Line, 5, 6 , 7, 8-1, 8-2, 9, 12, and 13.

Reason for action: To provide wintertime crabbing opportunity in these Marine areas.

Other information: The winter recreational crab season is open 7 days per week. All other crab rules regarding gear, a daily limit of five Dungeness crab, males only, in hard-shell condition with a minimum carapace width of 6-1/4 inches remain in effect. Marine Areas 10 and 11 will not open for winter harvest.
