One more date is being added to harvest all shrimp species including spot shrimp for Marine Areas 8-1, 8-2, 9 and 11.

Action: An additional opportunity to harvest all shrimp including spot shrimp is being offered on June 2 in Marine Areas 8-1, 8-2, 9, and 11 according to the schedule below.

Effective dates by area:

Marine Areas 8-1 and 8-2 will be open June 2 from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. for all shrimp species. Divers may take shrimp by hand or hand-held device from 7:00 p.m. until midnight on June 2 in Marine Area 8-2 only.

Marine Area 9 will be open June 2 from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. for all shrimp species.

Marine Area 11 will be open June 2 from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. for all shrimp species.

Species affected: All shrimp species which includes spot shrimp, coonstripe shrimp, dock shrimp, pink shrimp, and sidestripe shrimp.

Locations: Marine Areas 8-1, 8-2, 9, and 11.

Reason for action: To harvest recreational shrimp (primarily spot shrimp) consistent with State/Tribal management agreements.

Additional information: The daily limit of shrimp in Puget Sound from June 1st through the end of the season is 10 pounds of all shrimp species, with a maximum of 80 spot shrimp (if spot shrimp harvest is open). These areas opening on June 2 will only be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Other areas which do not have designated hours will be open "daylight hours only". "Daylight hours only" means that pots can be set and retrieved from 1 hour before official sunrise to 1 hour after official sunset on each open day. All traps must be removed from the water during periods when fishing is closed.
