Open recreational fishing for Halibut
In Puget Sound Marine Areas 5, 6-11, and 13

Action: Open recreational halibut fishing seasons in Puget Sound

Effective dates:
Marine Catch Areas 6-11 and 13: Open 12:01 a.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, through 11:59 p.m. June 18, 2006; five days a week, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Marine Catch Area 5: Open 12:01 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, through 11:59 p.m. August 5, 2006; five days a week; closed Tuesdays and Wednesday.

In all areas, the daily bag limit is one fish per angler, with a possession limit of two fish, in any form.

Species affected: Pacific halibut

Location: Marine Catch Areas 5, 6-11, and 13 (Marine Catch Area 12 remains closed because of low oxygen levels.)

Reason for action: The Puget Sound recreational halibut fishery quota for 2006 is 68,607 pounds, which is sufficient to provide for these seasons.
