A portion of the Skagit River to close to all fishing for 4 days

September 27, 2018

Action: Close a portion of the Skagit River to all fishing.

Effective date: Oct. 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2018.

Species affected: All species.

Location: Skagit River (Skagit Co.) from the mouth to the 200' upstream of the Baker River.

Reason for action: A portion of Skagit River will close to all fishing to avoid gear conflicts with treaty fisheries scheduled those dates.

Additional information: Fisheries upstream of a line 200' above the Baker River will remain open as listed in the Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.

Anglers are asked to respect tribal fishers and reminded to not interfere with tribal fisheries. Conflicts that arise during on-going fisheries may necessitate additional time and area closures in the future to reduce conflicts.

Information contact: Team Mill Creek, 425 775-1311.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations.
