Recreational clam, mussel, and oyster season to open at Oak Bay County Park April 1-30

March 21, 2019

.

Action: Opens recreational clam, mussel, and oyster harvest at Oak Bay.

Effective date: April 1 through April 30, 2019.

Species affected: Clams, mussels, and oysters.

Location: Oak Bay County Park.

Reason for action: A decrease in the butter clam population requires adjusting the season at Oak Bay County Park, which will be open for the month of April. The season is structured to meet conservation objectives agreed upon with tribal co-managers while providing recreational opportunity in this region. The oyster season will align with the clam season at this location.
