Recreational crab fishery to close in Strait of Juan de
Fuca and Marine Area 10, December 14

Action: Closes remainder of open areas in Puget Sound for recreational crab harvest.

Effective date: 4:00 p.m. December 14, 2003

Species affected: Dungeness and red rock crab

Location: Marine Areas 4, 5, 6 and 10.

Reason for action: Closes the remaining Puget Sound Catch Areas to crab harvest to meet allocation needs.

Other information: All other areas were closed earlier in the season. The next regularly scheduled recreational crab season will occur next spring, once the shellfish have gone through their annual molt.
