Action: Marine Area 1 reopens for halibut fishing
Effective dates: September 15, 2005
Species affected: Pacific halibut
Location: Marine Area 1, north of Cape Falcon, west of the Buoy 10 line at the Columbia River mouth and north to Leadbetter Point.
Reasons for action: There is sufficient quota to reopen the recreational halibut fishery in Marine Area 1.
Other information: The fishery will remain open until September 30, 2005, or until the remaining quota is taken, whichever occurs first. No minimum size limit; daily bag limit is one halibut. Possession limit is two daily bag limits in any form, except the possession limit onboard a vessel is one daily bag limit.
By-catch restriction: It is unlawful during any vessel trip to bring into port or
land bottomfish except sablefish if the vessel has brought halibut into port or
landed halibut.
