Recreational non-spot shrimp fishing closes July 27 from Mukilteo to Deception Pass

Action: Recreational non-spot shrimp fishing in Marine Areas 8-1 and 8-2 will close on Sunday, July 27, 2003 at 9 p.m. After this date these two Marine Areas are closed to all shrimp fishing for the year.

Effective date: July 27, 2003, at 9 p.m.

Species affected: Non-spot (coonstripe and pink) shrimp.

Location: All waters of Marine Areas 8-1 and 8-2.

Reason for action: Conservation purposes.

Other information: Marine Areas 8-1 and 8-2 have been closed for spot shrimp since early May, and after July 27 will be closed to all shrimp fishing until next year.
