Recreational shrimp fishing closing
in Marine Areas 9 and 10

Action: Recreational shrimp fishing is closed, effective immediately, in all waters of Marine Areas 9 and 10, which include the Edmonds and Seattle area shrimp fishing grounds. Marine Area 10 will reopen next Wednesday, May 16, for one day of fishing from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Effective date: Immediately.

Species affected: All shrimp.

Location: Marine Areas 9 and 10.

Reason for action: The recreational spot shrimp quota has been reached in Marine Area 9, and only enough quota remains for one weekday of fishing in Marine Area 10.

Other information: Marine Area 10 will remain closed on Saturday, May 12, then reopen for shrimp fishing the following Wednesday, May 16, as sufficient quota remains for one weekday of fishing but not enough for a weekend. Marine Area 11 also remains closed.
