Recreational shrimp fishing reopening for four days in the Iceberg Point area

Action: Recreational shrimp fishing will reopen at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the southern portion of Marine Area 7, which includes the Iceberg Point shrimp fishing grounds.

Effective dates: 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 through 9:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007.

Species affected: All shrimp.

Location: Southern portion of Marine Area 7.

Reason for action: Sufficient recreational spot shrimp quota remains to warrant extending the season.

Other information: On June 20 the southern portion of Marine Area 7 (all waters south of the boundaries described below) will reopen for shrimp fishing opportunity for four days. After June 23 this area will close to all shrimp fishing for the remainder of the year.

The southern portion of Marine Area 7 includes all waters south of a line from the Initiative 77 line on Fidalgo Island to Point Colville on Lopez Island, then south of a line from Davis Point on Lopez Island to Cattle Point on San Juan Island, then south of a line due west from Lime Kiln Point light on San Juan Island to the international boundary.
