Recreational shrimp fishing reopening for one day in a portion of Marine Area 10

Action: Recreational shrimp fishing will reopen for one day, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in a portion of Marine Area 10, which includes all Marine Area 10 waters outside of Elliott Bay.

Effective date: Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Species affected: All shrimp.

Location: Marine Area 10, excluding Elliott Bay (Elliott Bay is defined as all waters east of a line from West Point to Alki Point).

Reason for action: Sufficient recreational spot shrimp quota remains for one more weekday of fishing. The Elliott Bay portion of Marine Area 10 has a separate spot shrimp quota, and the recreational share has been reached in that area.

Other information: Marine Area 12 (Hood Canal) will remain open through at least Wednesday, May 14. Marine Areas 8-1, 8-2, 9 and 11 are closed.
