Recreational shrimp fishing will close
May 6 in Marine Areas 9 and 10


Action: Recreational shrimp fishing will close in all waters of Marine Areas 9 and 10, which include the Edmonds and Seattle area shrimp fishing grounds.

Effective date: May 6, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.

Species affected: All shrimp.

Location: Marine Areas 9 and 10.

Reason for action: The recreational spot shrimp quota has been reached in Marine Areas 9 and 10.

Other information: If sufficient quota remains after Wednesday, Marine Area 10 (or a portion thereof) could reopen for one day later this month. Marine Area 11 is closed.
