in Port Angeles Shrimp District

Action: Recreational shrimp fishing will close on June 13, 2004, in the Port Angeles Shrimp District.

Effective date: Sunday, June 13, 2004, at 3 p.m.

Species affected: All shrimp species.

Location: All waters of the Port Angeles Shrimp District in Marine Area 6.

Reason for action: The recreational share of spot shrimp has been reached in the area closed under this rule.

Other information: Discovery Bay Shrimp District and the remainder of Marine Area 6 remains open for shrimp fishing. Shrimp fishers are reminded that the tidal currents in the Straits of Juan de Fuca are very swift, and gear loss is a common occurrence. Check current tide tables, add additional weight to pots, and add extra buoys (all yellow) when shrimp fishing in Marine Area 6. See page 132 of the "2004-05 Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for rules and descriptions of spot, coonstripe, and pink shrimp
