Salmon fishing closed in Marine Area 10 (Seattle and Bremerton area)

April 7, 2025

Action: Closes salmon fishing.

Effective dates: April 9-30, 2025

Species affected: All salmon.

Location: Marine Area 10, except year-round piers (Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee State Park, Seacrest Pier, and Waterman Pier).

Reason for action: Estimates of Chinook catch to date indicate anglers have reached 99% of unmarked encounters (735), 70% of the total encounters (4,787), and 36% of sublegal encounters (4,055) agreed to in this year’s List of Agreed Fisheries (LOAF). It is necessary to close Marine Area 10 salmon seasons due to reaching or exceeding fishery controls.

Additional information: Year-round piers remain open seven days per week.

Fishery managers encourage anglers to sign up for Fishing Rule Change email notifications and to check for emergency rules on the WDFW website prior to fishing. Refer to the 2024-25 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for fishing rules.

Information contact: Fish Program, 360-902-2700.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations. Fishing rules are subject to change. Visit wdfw.wa.gov/fishing-hotlines to find a list of mobile, web, print, or customer service phone options for the latest rule information.
