Salmon Fishing Suspended in Marine Area 10

Action:  Closes salmon fishing.

Effective date:  March 26 through April 15, 2024. 

Species affected:  All Salmon.

Location:  Marine Area 10

 Reason for action:   Estimates of landed catch to date indicate that anglers have reached 145% of the total encounters (4,953), 100% of sublegal encounters (4,181) and 125% of unmarked encounters (953) agreed to in this year’s List of Agreed Fisheries (LOAF).  It is necessary to close Marine Area 10 salmon seasons due to reaching or exceeding fishery controls.

Additional Information:  Year-round piers remain open for salmon fishing. Agate Pass remains open daily to catch and release fly fishing only through March 31.
