Salmon Fishing Suspended in Marine Area 11

Action: Suspends retention of salmon in MA-11.

Effective date: June 3, 2022, 11:59pm,

Species affected: All Salmon

Location: Marine Area 11 (except year-round piers)

Reason for action: Salmon fishing is being suspended for the rest of June because unmarked encounter limit has been reached and the harvest quota is also expected to be achieved by the end of the day Friday. The current estimate of Chinook harvest through June 2 is 450 of the total harvest quota of 580 (78%) and 512 of the total unmarked encounter limit of 432 (118%) set during the 2022 North of Falcon season setting process.

Additional Information: This Fishing Rule Change does not affect the July 1 through September 30 fishery, which will continue as planned. Year-round fishing piers remain open as listed in the Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
