The Skykomish River to open May 25 to fishing for hatchery chinook salmon

Action: The Skykomish River will open to fishing for hatchery chinook salmon on May 25 (the Saturday before Memorial Day) to coincide with the gamefish season.

Effective dates: May 25 through July 31, 2019.

Species affected: Hatchery chinook salmon.

Location: Skykomish River, mouth to the mouth of the Wallace River; salmon, open the Saturday before Memorial Day through July 31.

Rules: Minimum size 12", daily limit 4 hatchery chinook only 2 of which may be adults.

Reason for action: Coordinate the seasons between gamefish and chinook.

Additional information: This fishery was agreed to during from the North of Falcon salmon-season setting process. Gamefish rules are as described in the pamphlet and are already covered under permanent rules.
