South Lewis County Park Pond to close for Kids Fishing event

Action: Closes South Lewis County Park Pond to all fishing except those children, 14 years old and younger, registered for the Kids Fishing event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th.

Effective dates:

May 12 - 12:01 a.m., entire pond closed to public fishing

May 13 - entire pond closed to public fishing

May 14 - pond closed except to children, 14 years old and
younger participating in the event.

May 14 - pond reopens to the public after 2 pm.

Location: South Lewis County Park Pond is located in Toledo in Lewis County.

Reason for action: This rule change is necessary to ensure a successful kid’s fishing event. Several thousand rainbow trout will be stocked two days prior to the event to acclimate them to ensure they will bite while the kids are fishing. During the event, only registered kids will be allowed to fish.

Other Information: This is the third year of this event. It is put on by the Toledo Lions Club.
