Sport clam and oyster season closed at Scenic Beach State Park

Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing season at Scenic Beach State Park will be closed until further notice.

Effective date: April 15, 2011 until further notice.

Species affected: All clams and oysters.

Location: Scenic Beach State Park. The park is located in Hood Canal in Kitsap County.

Reason for action: Surveys indicate that shellfish populations have declined. The Fish & Wildlife Commission has approved a closure of the clam and oyster seasons at this beach in 2011.
