Sport clam and oyster season delayed at
Hope Island State Park until May 1


Action: The opening for clam and oyster harvest seasons at Hope Island State Park will be delayed until May 1, 2010.

Effective date: April 1 through April 30, 2010.

Species affected: All clams and oysters.

Location: Hope Island State Park, which is located in Mason County on Squaxin Passage.

Reason for action: Surveys indicate a decline in the population of butter clams, requiring a shorter season. The season this year will run from May 1 through May 31, 2010.
