Sport clam and oyster season delayed at
Oyster Reserves of North Bay (Case Inlet)

Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing season at the Oyster Reserves of North Bay (Case Inlet) will open on April 1, 2013.

Effective date: Oyster Reserves of North Bay (Case Inlet): April 1, 2013 through Sept. 15, 2013.

Species affected: All clams and oysters.

Location: Oyster Reserves of North Bay (Case Inlet). This beach is located in Mason County near the town of Victor.

Reason for action: This beach has been open year-round in the past, but recreational effort has increased significantly in recent years, and the state's clam share was overharvested in 2012, requiring a shorter season in 2013. The oyster season on this beach coincides with the clam season.
