Sport clam and oyster seasons to close on Duckabush beach

Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing season on Duckabush beach will be closed based on a classification change by the Washington Department of Health.

Effective dates: Sept. 13, 2017 through Oct. 31, 2017

Species affected: All clams and oysters

Location: Duckabush

Reason for action: A comprehensive review of pollution conditions and marine water quality data has prompted the Department of Health to change its classification for Duckabush. The beach will be classified as "Conditionally Open," with an annual harvest closure from May 1 through Oct. 31 each year.
